hi all and i am wanting to know if different types of animals get along with each other like for instance do rabbits and cats get along? will a cat scare a rabbit? i ask these questions as we are soon to have some bunnies but we have a cat where i am living, reason we are to have them is this young girl whom owns them unfortunately has become allergic to the hay and has to give them up which i think is a bit sad and i'd hate to have to give an animal up if i were to have allergies.
A. Can't she just use different bedding for the rabbits if she is allergic to the hay and not to the rabbits? B. No, cats and rabbits do not get along. They should never be in the same room together unless the rabbit is in the cage. When you want to take the rabbit out of the cage, get the cat out of the room, shut the door and then you can excersize and play with the rabbits. Also, rabbits need at least an hour of attention from you per day, and they need time out of their cage, with supervision to excersize in a room that has been bunny proofed. I would google around and find some articles on rabbit care before you take on a new pet like this. They have just as many needs as a cat or dog if you are caring for them properly and they can not spend all day every day in a cage and just get food pellits and water. They need a varied diet and regular vet care, so please do some research before obtaining one or more rabbits as pets. Hope this helps.
Thank you for all the information that you have given and it is my sister whom is taking them on and no I don't know whether the family who's child is allergic has looked in to that or not.
I know they will be in a hatch so can cat's scare them?
